Hi! Well, nasal polyps are known to recur, and so yes, the possibility of recurrence should be ruled out.
However pain in your cheek can also be due to maxillary sinusitis. Since you have deviated nasal septum, cheek
pain can recur in a setting of sinusitis. Deviated nasal septum can be surgically corrected and can reduce
your symptoms to some extent. However, this surgery is not beneficial in all cases. Steam inhalation before
bed time, raising the head end of bed, drinking plenty of hot fluids and doing deep breathing exercises too
will help. Pain in cheek can also be due to caries of tooth affecting the upper jaw, a local abscess (this can
be post surgery if the surgery was recent), or due to involvement of the temporomandibular joint. Hence if
polyps and sinusitis is not the cause of your cheek pain, then these causes will need to be ruled out. It is
difficult to comment beyond this on net. Do discuss all this with your ENT specialist to decide further
management of your case. Take care!
