What to do if chest feels tight and heart pumps faster than normal after about 1hour after jogging – 16 yr old girl, quite unfit.

    It?s a normal physiological response of the heart &lungs after exercise. You see the muscles which have exercised need more oxygen & glucose to cover up the losses which have occurred during the exercise and to take care of the same, the heart has to pump more blood and the lungs have to give more oxygen to the blood. Hence, we breathe faster to get more oxygen which results in a feeling of tightness & the heart pumps blood faster. This is basically the normal stress response of the body. This is due to the activation of the sympathetic nervous system of the body. I sincerely hope tht helps. Take care.
