I may have a third degree burn

I burned myself with a curling iron almost two weeks ago. Its small about the size of a dime on the inside of my forearm. After is happened I ran my arm under cold water for a few minutes and put some aloe vera gel on it. It initially hurt but by the end of the day there wasnt much pain. Within hours the burn turned very dark almost black, and that is how it has stayed it doesnt exactly feel like a scab Im not sure exactly what it is. Do I wait it out and just see what happens or are the other steps I should be taking

Some burns may leave a scar and discoloration. After the wound has healed over, thinly apply a moisturizing lotion to restore elasticity to the skin and reduce dryness and flakiness. Drinking plenty of water may also help. To diminish the unattractive spot, you may bleach the scar with over-the-counter skin-bleaching cream containing hydroquinone to help lighten it and/or glycolic acid product to help peel away the top layer of skin. However, if it persists, have this evaluated further by your dermatologist for proper management.

    Take care and regards.
