Hi there! Welcome to the forum. Yes, this would be a period; though it is artificially induced by withdrawing the pills. It would last a normal duration of 3-7 days. A discrepancy of +/- 2-3 days with the natural periods is perfectly normal while on (off) the pills. After discontinuing the pills a few initial periods ‘may’ (not necessarily) tend to be irregular which would regularize in a few cycles. Hope this information is helpful. Hi! I agree with Dr Kaul's opinion. Yes, this is what we medically call withdrawal bleeding. This starts in response to the hormonal effect of the pills tapering off. The bleeding may be light or heavy, and may last 2-7 days. This should be considered a normal period. Henceforth, as Dr Kaul says, it may take a few cycles for the periods to follow a set pattern. If you have regular periods, then you will start having regular periods after 2-3 months, but the date may differ from the original date of 30th of a month. However if bleeding persists beyond 7 days then get it investigated by a gynecologist. Take care!
