Answer by Dr Vinod, MBBS,FcGP   on Mon 27, Dec 2010 04:25pm:

Hello raider-nation01, Most nosebleeds do not have an easily identifiable cause. However, trauma to the nose is a very common cause of nosebleeds. Nosebleed causes can also be due to use of blood thinners & side effects of medications, nose picking, living in dry cold or dry hot environments and causes such as presence of foreign body, vigorous nose blowing or infections such as rhinitis or sinusitis. Check if you have any sinusitis or cold or flu. Take adequate rest, measure and monitor your blood pressure and follow up with an ENT specialist. Take care !
