Hi,
HIV infection is a an immune system limiting infection which leads to decrease in immunity which then allows
other oppurtunistic infections to cause diseases in the body.
Diarrhea and blood discharge may be signs of infection too in the gastrointestinal and urinary systems
respectively.
There may be many causative agents for each of these and this often needs thorough analysis.
Further, other than the present infection it is important that the status and progression of the disease be
determined.
