can anxiety cause heart arrythmia?

    
Asked by sp110506 (Female; 24; 2 children. one etopic pregnacy- loss of fallopian tube. attends cardiologist due to palpitations and sensation of heart skipping a beat. had GAD and panic attacks for last 3 mths. have had 6-7 ecgs all normal and 3 chest xrays clear in the past 4 mths. full blood count last mth. all clear. asthma as a child; Relevant drugs:no medication. ) on Wed 06, Oct 2010 12:45pm

can anxiety cause heart arrythmia? when i first experienced my palpitations and sensation of heart skipping a beat it was in nov 09. it last for around 3 mths.. happening every other nite. at this time i felt no anxiety at all so i went to cardiologist who thinks it may be arrythmia. have had 24hr monitor in april which was all normal..awaiting a stress test ( missed last one in may as was in hospital due to etopic pregnacy)in july of this year it all came back only this time i did feel that i suffered from extreme anxiety and panic attacks and a bad case of vertigo.. im wondering was all these heart sensations anxiety all along? can u have anxiety and not even no? or has anxiety started the arrythmia again? plz help.
