Answer by Dr Sanjivani Wanjari  on Wed 20, Oct 2010 12:13am:

HI, your stone in the ureter is small. If it is only 5.5 mm then it may pass of by drinking lots of water and diuretics if required. The mode of removal depends on the size, location and proximity to important structures. Lithotripsy is a non- invasive method of removal of the renal stones. If the size of the kidney stone is suitable for removal by lithotripsy, then it can be done. Consult your uro-surgeon. Take care and good luck.
