4cm simple ovarian cyst . Right side.

I was wondering about a cyst on my right ovary. They said it wasa simple ovarian cyst and it was 4 cm. I don't know what that means and they said it would break up over time. My sister told me it will hurt when it does. Today my lower back and right side is hurting. I barely just recovered from my miscarriage,

HI, small cysts that are often present in the ovary and those are less than 5 cm in size are functional cysts of the ovary and will resolve themselves as the hormonal factors are corrected. They do not necessarily rupture. If you are having pain in the lower back and abdomen then you should consult your Doctor for an examination. The possibility of an infection following a miscarriage needs to be ruled out. Hope this helps. Take care and good luck.

I have a small cyst 3.3cm on my left ovary. For years on and off I have suffered with lower abdominal pain. Recently past month I have had constant lower abdominal ache pelvic ache back ache occassional pain under the ribs. I am also tired a lot been having hot flashes with dizziness. It has just started to hurt when I wee stabbing pain on the left. I haven't got an STI been tested and my smear was normal. What could be wrong. Thank you.
